Sometimes I hate that we hate powered blade implements and petrol engines, but when it comes down to it I just can't be that vacuous arsehat spewing fumes and noise all fucking weekend. Sunday afternoon quiet really underscores the bogan v luddite misanthropist differential- you think not hearing my neighbours really enriches that localised alien live capture of people who make too much fucking noise scenario I've been treasuring lately: they think needs more chainsaws. That the people who make the damn noise impact your ability to coherently fantasise about their demise at the hands of sadistic interplanetary marrow-hungry plasmids is the kind of paradox only the most seasoned of palates can savour without risking an intracranial bleed.
In other news, I can only eat ice-cream on one side of my mouth now due to a cracked tooth/exposed nerve situation. Feel like it's affecting my worldview, lol. Am told if you ignore the pain the offending nerve will die and the tooth will drop out in its own time. Really need to go to the dentist. I say 'dentist' but I mean ghetto dentist -the Dental School- because I'm poor and must accept my status as disposable experimental materia. When you're fascinatingly hypodontic (if you're wondering what that looks like, think hillbilly velociraptor) every trip to the fucking murder house is a blur of staring and poking and flash photography as your idiosyncratic congenital defect is marvelled at by strangers and captured for posterity. I only go every 25 years, but still: :(
Something eternally great to distract me from the prospect of oral surgery- Add it Up. This album will always remind me of combat boots and patchouli oil and Merciful Release Tshirts and watching someone particularly beautiful walk naked and sweaty to the fridge for a bottle of vodka, and then back again while Poison Ivy sneered at us from the Cramps poster over his bed. Sigh. Although I find the Femmes and physical congress are a bit like black olives and date and ginger custard- yes to both, just not at the same time.
