(Illustrated quote-of-the-day 4. A Rube Goldberg machine for the critics.)
Personally, I disagree.
Everyone's a critic. When we create, we are ourselves critiquing the void.
Critics build bike ramps for the militant contrarian, angled around 90˚. Thank them for it. Pedal hard. (I just noticed one in the piece).
They've build a glassy ziggurat of preening self-reference and Freudian slippage in the
Guardian. That's not as easy as it looks.
I also suspect that no one is quite this inutile or fundamentally objectionable when they're praising your work, either. No matter how you look at it, Robert Moses was wrong. And a dickhead.
