I bought these earrings a couple of weeks ago and have been wearing the shit out of them ever since. Sharing your new stuff is always a bit of a dilemma when one is fully cognisant of the near-universal odium in which exhibitionists who run to the internet with their latest purchases are generally held. But on the other hand, people who make nice stuff by hand deserve a bit of recognition. |
I'm a hard cow to please. As a non-petite unit, I prefer larger pieces. Intelligent design that references classical or organic elements. Hand-made one-offs, preferably. On a budget usually hovering somewhere between church mouse and brokearse. All of which means I'm usually shit out of luck, so I was delighted with this pair of anticlastic sterling hoops from JennHermanJewelry (Etsy) with their hand-hammered textures, archaic asymmetry and delicious silky finish. I shortened the wires slightly because of my no-neck situation but they are light enough even for my tender lobes and importantly do not get stuck in my curly hair. Historically I've favoured the asphyxiating overkill approach to jewellery application but am lately veering toward single large item territory and these are particularly satisfying. Please note, as per usual, I neither solicit nor receive discounts/comps for any of the items I recommend. And finally, gaze into the stripy wonderment of this young variegated Aloe castanea, latest addition to our collection. |
Go down the whole hole head first. You're welcome.
