Did you have a decent Halloween? We're old, and our entire life is sort of trick or treat anyway, so we stayed in and self-administered, which is cheaper and more dignified than the public disporting of yore. We did, however, succumb to the urge to document the local The Light Between Oceans shoot like the sleazy clickwhores we obviously are, and will be posting the results this week. We had some nosey-local points of entry, so got the chance to sneak a peak at sets under construction, which was cool.
The first day of shooting coincided with the presence of a massive cruise ship in Port and its mouthbreathing payload was a bit of a challenge to negotiate; since I hate both crowds and sunlight, the Lovely R was dispatched down the road with his important-looking Nikon + big lens to get the money shots. Handy tip: always take pro-looking gear anywhere you might have to blag your way into. Crowds assume you're part of the crew and get out of your way; crew assume you're local news/stills photographer/somehow affiliated and even when you confess you're not, they tend to chat to you and spill the schedule beans anyway. R got some nice shots of both the talent and the process, so I hope you enjoy the results.
Going in to the doctor (hissssss) to have some mutating shit burnt off my face on Tuesday. Pray for me.
