Shade-wise, the recent MAC Maleficent True Love's Kiss looks similar to Ruby on the hand but- to a red freak, at least- TL'sK is a different beast, quite a bit brighter, leaning more raspberry with less depth of colour. On me Ruby is a medium-deep fairly neutral red; the shade is something between the swatch below and how Just a Bite (LE) looks directly beside it. No dirty, no brown, no orange, just a strong pin-up red. It's also a rather grown-up, fuck-me kind of red, very erm... Brazilian... so I wouldn't gift it to a 13 year old, know what I'm saying? You need a few miles on the clock to werq this shade. You also need lip confidence; while the colour itself is almost universally flattering, there's something about its union with the medium PVC-type gloss level that will punish a thin, chapped or very creased mouth and draw attention to defects (real or imagined). So- a very positive result, with that one teeny caveat.
While the pic above is a little dark and coolish, the swatch below is quite accurate- you can see how Ruby Woo looks dead right for once, so judge from there.
